Medical Abortion (The Pill)

Medical abortions may be performed up to 63 days from the first day of your last menstrual period. A pelvic exam and ultra sound will be done to determine the gestational age. You will then receive one pill to take by mouth. You will be given four (4) tablets to take home, to be inserted in the vagina within the next 3 days. You will abort within a few hours after inserting the tablets. A follow up exam in two weeks will ensure that there are no complications.

The price for an abortion between 5-12 weeks runs $400.00 and for 12-14 weeks $550.00

Surgical Abortion

Surgical abortion, or aspiration curettage, may be performed up to 12 weeks gestation. An additional fee is charged for 13-14 weeks gestation. A pelvic exam and ultrasound will be done to determine gestational age. Local anesthetic is injected around the cervix, the cervix is dilated and a cannula inserted into the uterus, suction is applied and the uterine cavity emptied. You may receive IV sedation if you have someone to drive you home; you may also drive yourself home, without sedation. A support person is welcome in the exam room with you.
